Residents are invited to take part in the Town of Oyster Bay’s spring adult co-ed badminton and adult co-ed volleyball programs, according to Town Councilman Joseph G. Pinto. The programs are open to players who are 18 and older and will be held at the Town of Oyster Bay Hicksville Athletic Center.
The volleyball program begins Thursday, April 9 and will be conducted on Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., Fridays from 9 to 10:30 p.m., and Sundays from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. The badminton program begins Tuesday, April 7 and will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 10:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. The programs, which are 12 weeks in duration, are $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Proof of residency is required for the discount.
“Badminton and volleyball are an excellent form of aerobic exercise that improve health and add years to your life,” Pinto said. “I would encourage people to join these co-ed activities not only for the positive health benefits, but for the social aspect as well.”
Pinto noted that registration for both programs will take place at the Town of Oyster Bay Hicksville Athletic Center, 167 Broadway in Hicksville, on Tuesday, March 31 from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.. Following these dates, registration will continue based on availability. Please note that the schedule may be subject to change and residents are encouraged to inquire about special holiday scheduling.
“The town’s co-ed programs are excellent ways to advance health and meet new friends,” Pinto said. “I recommend that everyone takes advantage of these terrific programs.”
