Jericho Jewish Center and the Jewish Congregation of Brookville-Oyster Bay Jewish Center recently sponsored the fourth annual Sandwich Sunday, a special community service/hunger relief event, held at the Jericho Jewish Center.
Officials said the day was an overwhelming success. The local community gathered to make sandwiches and pack bagged lunches, which were then donated to 10 different food agencies in the Nassau/Suffolk area.

More than 1,200 sandwiches were made and distributed to those in need. Close to 800 nonperishable food items were collected as part of the event, and were donated to local food pantries. Close to 200 volunteers of all ages from the surrounding neighborhoods came to lend their support to this worthy cause.
Everyone who participated had a great time and were united as a community in a common cause—giving back and helping those less fortunate.
Jericho Jewish Center and the Jewish Congregation of Brookville-Oyster Bay Jewish Center collaborated with “rock CAN roll” for this event. rock CAN roll, Inc., is a volunteer, 501c3, nonprofit, hunger relief organization.
