Minuteman Press Hits Milestone

Minuteman Press recently hit a new milestone by celebrating 25 years of being open in the Village of Farmingdale. There was no huge extravaganza, besides a few congratulatory letters from local politicians, but the store has stood the test of time, remaining open after several other small printing shops in the area have closed their doors.

“We have managed to survive as other local print shops have come and gone,” said store owner Jeff Miller. “We have remained in the same location all this time and still receive a lot of positive comments from our customers who say that we are better than the big box stores.”

Minuteman Press, located at 331 Main St., helps customers with their business communications needs and services, such as business card printing, black and white copies, digital copies and output, color copies, labels, letterhead and manuals. The store also offers binding, color copying, full color printing, logo design, Docutech, lamination, wire binding and more.

“A lot has changed in the past 10 to 15 years as far as technology in the printing world,” said Miller, who grew up in the Bronx and now lives in Plainview. “We’ve gone from the older printing presses into the new digital world with full color digital printing availability.”

But the store still has strong roots to the community, serving generations of families and placing a strong value on customer loyalty.

“We have customers who’ve come in for their child’s christening, sweet 16 or weddings. Then when their children have grown up they’ll come back in the store with their own children. We have generations of customers here,” Miller smiled.

Miller has been with the store over 25 years as the sole owner. Prior to opening the Minuteman Press shop, he worked as a vendor in the garment industry in Manhattan.

“I enjoy what I do, and I am happy to be serving the Village of Farmingdale for all of these years,” he said.
