The Division Avenue High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Chapter, advised by Frances Crusco, recently competed at the State Conference in Rochester.
DECA is an extracurricular activity that helps to prepare future leaders and entrepreneurs through role-play competitions in business-themed areas. At the conference, which was attended by all New York State high school chapters, nearly 2,000 students competed in over 40 categories.
The following students placed in the top 10 for their event:
Bobby Evans for Personal Financial Literacy; Srikar Indrakanti for Principle of Business Management and Administration, overall event performance, test score and his role play; David Lavigne for Decision Making Marketing, James Lunetta for Human Resources Management exam, role play I and II and for overall performance, Sara Pedroza for third-place in Job Interview, Jessica Vasseghi for Role play in Decision Making Marketing and Anna Yoo for Retail Merchandising.
Team members Matt Evans Amanda Jakubiak, Andrea Garthwaite, Navreen Ghotra and Alex Montoya also showed strong performances in the competition.
