Charles Temkey At Congregational Church

The Women’s Club of The Congregational Church of Manhasset will celebrate its 74th birthday on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 12 Noon in the church’s North Lounge. A variety of sandwiches, birthday cake, coffee and tea will be served for a requested donation of $10. Following the luncheon, Charles Temkey, one of the professional bass soloists in the church’s Chancel Choir, will entertain the group with different types of music featuring his deep, rich voice. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Craig Tocher, Director of Music at the church.
Mr. Temkey holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Manhattan School of Music. As a versatile singer, he has performed in operas, in different periods of classical repertoire, and in musical theatre. He has also been a bass soloist in major Requiems and in many contemporary concert works. He has performed as a solo artist at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall, and Tanglewood, and with the Los Angeles Opera, Boston Pops, Milwaukee Symphony, Tulsa Opera, Connecticut Grand Opera, Long Island Philharmonic, Long Island Masterworks Chorus, and the Eugene Concert Choir.
The community is extended a cordial invitation to attend the luncheon and program. If you are unable to join the group for lunch, please come for the program at 12:45 P.M.
