The American Airpower Museum will perform the premier of Phylis Ravel’s Censored On Final Approach at 8 p.m. Censored on Final Approach tells the story of four WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots), a group of roughly 1,000 women hired by the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII to fly military aircraft and tow targets for live anti-aircraft artillery practice, thereby freeing male pilots for combat missions. With the backdrop of an actual WWII hangar and scenery composed of actual WWII planes, let yourself be transported to a time of war, bravery and history in the making. The museum will be open before the performance. Those who come early can enhance their viewing of the show by gaining special insight on American wars and aviation through the exhibits. In addition, a surviving WASP will visit the museum for the performance. The American Airpower Museum is located at 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale To purchase tickets, visit www.wwiiplanes.bpt.me.
