As part of the Mineola School District’s STEAM initiative, the ninth-grade students in Ms. Greene’s and Ms. Sheehan’s Exploring Computer Science classes wrapped up a recent unit using littleBits.

littleBits are unique sets of snap-together electronic modules. Students entered submissions to a company-sponsored “March Madness” bracket contest on Twitter. Students used their knowledge of each bit’s function to predict which ones would advance.

The winning bit was the cloudBit selected by Chris Fuentes, Daniella Monroy and Rebeca Joseph. Each student received a basketball jersey signed by littleBits founder, Ayah Bdeir, and their own set of littleBits.
