Thomas J. Hayden, 83, of Floral Park, died on Friday, May 1. Former Mayor of Floral Park, coach, writer for The Gateway. Hayden coined the phrase, “Floral Park, A Great Place to Live”. He was a great man who was loved by all.
Loving husband of the late Carolyn T. Beloved father of Thomas, Kevin (Deb), Honorable Douglas J. Hayden (Una), and James. Loving grandfather of Thomas, Eileen (John), Kelly, Maura, Colleen, Bridget, Conor, Ryan, Shannon and Sean. Cherished great-grandfather of Hayden, Jake, Joseph and Kayla. Dear brother of Dorothy (John).
Funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Victory RC Church in Floral Park, with interment at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Victory Church c/o St. Vincent DePaul Society, 2 Floral Pkwy., Floral Park, NY 11001.
