Daniel Valderrama and Kate Cifarelli of Oyster Bay and Katherine Frey of Bayville successfully completed the 13th annual Long Island Greenbelt Trail 25 Kilometer Run on Saturday, May 9.
Valderrama finished the run in two hours, 20 minute, 23 seconds, taking eighth place overall.
Frey crossed the finish line in two hours, 23 minutes to take 14th place overall. She was the second female finisher overall.
Cifarelli completed her run in three hours, 15 minutes, five seconds, earning 65th place overall.
The run started and finished at the office/clubhouse of the Greater Long Island Running Club near the Sunnyside Boulevard trailhead, with the runners proceeding north on the trail to the end of the trail at the Cold Spring Harbor Marina, and then back again to Sunnyside Boulevard and the GLIRC facility.
The run, which was sponsored by the Runner’s Edge running and multisport specialty store, is part of the American Trail Association Series of races.
