A 27-year-old Rockville Centre woman was fatally hit by a truck while she was riding a bicycle in Oceanside on Sunday.

Nassau County police said Michele Penque was riding her bike southbound on Lawson Boulevard when she was hit by an eastbound pickup truck at the corner of Anchor Avenue at 10:35 a.m.

The victim was taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital, where she died six hours later.

Penque was a nurse with the Cardiac Electrophysiology service at NYU Medical Center who graduated with her Masters of Nursing in Informatics on May 19, according to her friends and colleagues.

Highway Patrol officers tested the vehicle and Homicide Squad detectives found no criminality on behalf of the 49-year-old driver.
