Lions Support Diabetes Prevention

The Mineola Lions Club recently presented Winthrop-University Hospital with a donation of $10,000, continuing its generous support of diabetes prevention at the hospital.

“We deeply appreciate the Mineola Lions’ commitment to diabetes prevention and their continued support of Winthrop’s leading efforts,” said Virginia Peragallo-Dittko, RN, BC-ADM, CDE, FAADE, executive director of Winthrop’s Diabetes and Obesity Institute.

The Edward Smith Mineola Lions Club is an ardent supporter of Winthrop’s efforts in diabetes prevention. Over the years, the Mineola Lions Club has been committed in its support of the Diabetes Education Center through numerous donations.
