Our Lady of Victory (OLV) students have recently participated in an amazing service project. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) sponsored a fundraiser, Math-A-Thon, for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
In the Math-A-Thon, students from grades four-through eight were given workbooks filled with fun math problems for each individual age group. The children asked friends and family to sponsor them in the event and donate money for each math answer in their workbook.
Each day, NJHS students would either go to a classroom to help kids with their work or make morning announcements encouraging students to keep on track with the workbook problems.
This service project shed light on an important subject, helped children with cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Although the goal was $3,000 OLV students raised more than $7,000 for the cause.
