The first week of the 2015 Town of Oyster Bay “Music Under the Stars” concert series kicks off with global superstar, Bret Michaels performing at John J. Burns Town Park, Merrick Road, Massapequa, on Tuesday, July 7, according to Town Supervisor John Venditto.
“Having risen to fame as the front man of successful rock band Poison, Bret Michaels has turned his passion for music into a multi-faceted brand encompassing record breaking touring sales, legendary songs, and reality TV stardom,” Said Venditto. “Michaels is also a philanthropist, personally helping to raise tens of millions of dollars for charity in addition to starring in and winning Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice, where he raised well over $300,000 for diabetes research.”
On Wednesday, July 8, the “Movies & Moonlight” program will present a screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to be held at Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park located on Motor Avenue in Farmingdale.
“Families can enjoy watching the classic movie chronicling Harry Potter’s first year at Hogwarts on a warm summer night,” said Venditto said. “The ‘Movies & Moonlight’ program runs throughout the summer delighting fans of all ages.”
For fans of classic Pop music, Friday, July 10, will offer a special treat, when The New York Bee Gees Present “You Should Be Dancin” Tribute Show comes to Syosset-Woodbury Community Park located on 7800 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury.
“The Bee Gees Tribute Show is the most extravagant Bee Gees show a Bee Gees fan can experience, offering all of the classic 70’s hits from ‘Stayin Alive’ to ‘Night Fever’ while embracing their earlier works such as ‘To Love Somebody,’ ‘I’ve Got A Message’ and ‘Massachusetts,’”said Venditto. “The New York Bee Gees deliver songs from every decade of the Bee Gees catalog with stunning productions, powerful vocals and professional presence to fill any club, casino or large hall.”
