Great Neck will host two very special events Friday to commemorate the 9/11 attacks and honor those who died because of them.

The Vigilant Fire Department will host its annual service at Firefighters’ Park at the corner of Grace Avenue and Barstow Road at 8:30 A.M. by the statue dedicated to its Assistant Chief, Jonathan Ielpi. Also a New York City firefighter, Ielpi was killed responding to the World Trade Center attacks.
Temple Israel of Great Neck will hold a memorial service on Saddle Rock’s 9/11 Memorial Bridge at 7:00 A.M. Marchers are asked to assemble at the temple (108 Old Mill Road) at 6:45 A.M to march to the bridge.
