Manhasset’s Connie Foley is a modern American impressionist painter. She has exhibited at the Chrysalis Gallery in Southampton for twenty years. Originally an abstractionist known for her vibrant color and fluid form, Foley has become a naturalist, turning to nature as it relates to and restores the individual. As a native of Long Island, Foley’s work reflects the character and the beauty of Long Island, particularly its North Shore and East End. Foley began painting at an early age under the tutelage of her uncle, an artist. She won a scholarship to college, majored in art, won numerous awards, and then went on to graduate school and teaching

She has always had a working relationship with Trapani Art and Frame. Fine Art reproductions of her paintings have been available at Trapani since 1991. Both community-minded Al Trapani and she have partnered on a number of projects and fund raisers for the Manhasset community. They have donated framed fine art reproductions to numerous fundraisers, among them Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer, Tuesday’s Children, the Don Scott Memorial Scholarship Foundation and The Church of St. Mary. With research material provided by Fran Bourguet, Trapani and Foley created a visual history of The Church of St. Mary prominently displayed in the Ministry Center of the Church.
