Mamma Mia! Theatre Workshop
On Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Sid Jacobson JCC, in collaboration with A Class Act will host a Mamma Mia! workshop.
Jennifer Hemphill, who performed in the musical on Broadway in 2012, will teach students a song and dance combination from the show. A top New York City talent manager will also work with students on musical theatre audition technique.

Shulem Deen Book Signing
On Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m., the JCC will host author Shulem Deen, as will discuss his memoir All Who Go Do Not Return as part of the JCC’s author breakfast and book signing series. Tickets are $40 for JCC members and $50 for non-members and can be purchased at www.sjjcc.org.
Auditions For The Drowsy Chaperone
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 7 to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 8 to 10 p.m., the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Players will hold auditions for the Tony award-winning musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. Rabbi Rachel Cowan Talk
On Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m., the JCC will host author Rabbi Rachel Cowan to discuss her book, co-written with Dr. Linda Thal, Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit.
Using mediation, journaling, science and spirituality, Cowan and Thal help readers enhance relationships, gratitude, wisdom and loss and give a better understanding of how to age well.
Cowan is the former executive director of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. Thal is a Jewish educator and the founding co-director of the Yedidya Center for Jewish Spiritual Direction.
Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance at www.sjjcc.org and $12 at the door.
