Knights Dominate Homecoming

Students, spectators and administrators gathered at Floral Park Memorial High School for the annual homecoming parade and football game on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The parade began at Floral Park Memorial High School with the grand marshal leading the way, followed by the color guard, marching band, football team, administrators and students, cheerleaders and Florettes. During the parade, homecoming king Jacob Vascaonez and homecoming queen Dakota McDonald road on top of convertible cars along with the homecoming court’s ladies and lords.

After the parade concluded, the Floral Park Memorial Knights football team gave a show-stopping performance, dominating the South Side High School Cyclones, 34-7, while the high school hosted a carnival for members of the community to play games, win prizes and jump in an inflatable castle.

The halftime show was a spectacular event, with the marching band, cheerleaders, Florettes and color guard giving crowd-pleasing performances.

“The team played exceptionally well against the Cyclones,” said Knights Head Coach Michael Spina as he celebrated a victory with the Knights.
