Candidates for 4th District incumbent Dina DeGeorgio (R, C, REF) and Emily Beys (D, WFP, IND, GRE, WEP)
Emily Beys is running for the 6th Council seat in the Town of North Hempstead.
I’ve been a Port Washington resident since 1995. I earned a degree in political science from NYU and had a successful career in radio sales/marketing. In 2001, I decided to stay home to raise my children. For the past 14 years, I’ve been continuously involved with the local public schools in numerous leadership roles, earning a reputation as a direct, honest, results-oriented problem solver.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with residents from every part of our wonderful community and the experience has taught me how much I enjoy serving my neighbors.
I have one main goal as your next councilperson: To be a proactive advocate for the people and the needs of council District 6. I have no professional or business interests within our District and my sole priority is to be an honest voice for our community.
I am proud to be the Democrat candidate for District 6. I’m also honored to be endorsed by the Green, Independence, Working Families and Women’s Equality parties.
Most of all, I am proud to have the support of my husband Bobby and our children, Paulina and Mano.
I would be honored to serve our great community, working alongside our outstanding supervisor, Judi Bosworth.
Dina M. DeGiorgio is the Town of North Hempstead 6th District Council, incumbent.
I’m proud of my record as your independent voice on North Hempstead’s Town Council. I am accountable to you.
In the past four years I have made—and kept—my promises. I’ve helped save Petrus Park from developers. I’ve made life easier for commuters by rebuilding the LIRR overpass, developing a new rideshare app and securing more revenue for the parking district. I’ve spearheaded revitalizing Main Street with grants for signage improvements and a new streetscape design.
With help from community groups, the LIRR station has beautiful gardens and planters. I created a program to market Port as a waterfront destination. I fought to get our share of infrastructure funding and voted against excessive raises for appointees and officials–including myself.
I’m a working mom. I’m from the Bronx; the first in my family to go to college. As a family lawyer, and now as your councilwoman, I have tried to show that through hard work, much can be done. There’s more to do.
Please consider my qualifications, accomplishments and how important it is to have an independent-thinking and energized councilwoman representing our district.
