Massapequa has once again demonstarted its running prowess among local residents as Victoria Kornieva-Robitalle, Luanne Alicea, Ashley Minns and Rich Minns of Massapequa Park, and Karen Conkling, Monica Enright and Glenn Morse of Massapequa, all finished the race and won awards in the Oct. 17 Oyster Bay Town Supervisor’s 5K Run.
Kornieva-Robitalle crossed the finish line at Oyster Bay’s Townsend Square in 18 minutes, 53 seconds, to score as the third woman overall. Alicea earned fourth place honors in the Athena 160-pound Plus Weight Division with a time of 31:46. Rich Minns scored fourth in the 40-44 age group in 20:17, as his daughter Ashley Minns earned the first place award in the women’s 14 and under age group in 21:37. Conkling (21:38) and Enright (21:58) scored 1-2 in the women’s 50-54 age group. Morse was the third place finisher in the 65-69 age group, crossing the finish line in 24:43.
Special congratulations go to Oyster Bay Town Councilman Chris Coschignano, who put together a team of family, friends and colleagues who raised more than $1,000 for Ronald McDonald House. Coschignano finished the race in a much better time than he had expected with a time of 30:54.
