Giuseppe (Joe) DiBartolomeo, owner of Home Run Electric, was honored during the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce Annual Small Businessperson of the Year awards breakfast at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Oct. 23.
DiBartolomeo was chosen for this honor by the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce because of his generosity with his electrical expertise on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and the community overall. DiBartolomeo has built a very successful business on his principles of exceptional customer service and quality electrical work. He has stepped in to save the day many times with nonelectrical problems as well. Just one example of DiBartolomeo’s generous nature was when Home Run Electric installed a Kohler generator in the home of a family with a special-needs member.
A few weeks ago, he met with a woman whose son was severely injured in an auto accident. While a home generator is important during a power failure for anyone, it was the different between life and death in this family’s home. DiBartolomeo and his employees have volunteered to install a generator, which the family purchased, in their home at no charge. DiBartolomeo is hoping to start a program with friends and family to help more families with special needs.
