The Manhasset High School Interact Club, Neil’s Wheels and the Manhasset schools will solicit nonperishable food for the needy, along with the Real Estate Board of Manhasset and Port Washington. This Thanksgiving Food Drive is for the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN). The food drive will start Nov. 1 and run until Friday, Nov. 22.
The INN, a Long Island organization, has fed those in need since 1983. The INN addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing and supporting services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek their help. The Manhasset Public Schools, most of the local villages, the Manhasset & Port Washington Real Estate Board, the Manhasset/Lakeville Fire Department and others will be joining the food drive. Drop-off boxes will be available at all Manhasset Public Schools, most local village offices, King Kullen supermarket in Manhasset and the local real estate offices. They are as follows: Accents on Real Estate at 124 Plandome Rd.; Coach Realtors at 321 Plandome Rd.; Coldwell Banker at 600 Plandome Rd.; Daniel Gale at 364 Plandome Rd.; Douglas Elliman at 154 Plandome Rd.; Laffey Fine Homes at 116 Plandome Rd. and Spruce Realty Co. at 127 Plandome Rd.
The INN is requesting donations of nonperishable foods such as stuffing, canned yams, cranberry sauce, canned fruit, canned vegetables (corn, peas, string beans), canned soup, canned gravy, boxed macaroni & cheese, boxed or packaged mashed potatoes. No glass items.
King Kullen in Manhasset will have food boxes at its store from Nov. 1 until Nov. 20.
Thank you for helping make sure that no one goes hungry on this Thanksgiving.
