On Nov. 8, families of Pack 776 hiked through Caleb Smith State Park Preserve. Scouts were led through trails by Shari, from the Greenbelt Trail Conference. Naturalist Mindy Block of QualityParks.org brought a Red Tailed Hawk named Spirit and his handler Tony.
The scouts learned about the landscape of the park and native vegetation as well as invasive species that are killing off the trees. The scouts also got to see the many Eagle Scout Projects that have been completed in the preserve. Along with their families, the scouts had an enjoyable day with great weather.
Thank you to Mrs. Wachter for the opportunity to see the beautiful parks our communities have to offer.
