President Frank de Oliveira and the Long Island Portuguese Lions Club of District 20k-2 collected almost 1,000 items of non-perishable food to donate to local church pantries in need. The annual food drive, held in cooperation with Comptroller George Maragos and the Nassau County Comptroller’s Office for the second straight year, started the week of Thanksgiving and collected items were dropped off during the LIPLC Holiday Dinner at the Mineola Portuguese Center recently.
On hand to represent the County was Deputy Comptroller and fellow Lion Gabriel Marques.
