On Jan. 31, at Great Neck North High School, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Councilwomen Anna Kaplan and Lee Seeman attended the Chinese New Year Festival. The program, hosted by the Great Neck Chinese Association, included Chinese drums, a traditional Chinese orchestra chorus, dancing, Chinese yo-yo and more. The celebration marked the beginning of the year 4714 on the Chinese calendar, the Year of the Monkey.
