Under The Stars Celestial Weekend At Sands Point Preserve

Starlab Planetarium visits the Guggenheim Estate, featuring nighttime—with outdoor stargazing—or daytime explorations. Learn all about the magical night sky when the inflatable Starlab Portable Planetarium visits Sands Point Preserve on Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6. That’s when children and their caregivers can experience a 30-minute sky show, followed by a host of astronomy crafts.Celestial030216A Celestial030216B

March 5 stargazers are encouraged to dress for the outdoors and hope for a clear night. Conditions permitting, we’ll see our moon shadows and “connect the dots” of the real Big Dipper above the Preserve’s Great Lawn.

This program is for children ages four and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The March 5 event offers sessions at 6 p.m., 6:40 p.m., 7:20 p.m. or 8 p.m.

The March 6 event offers sessions at 11 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m. or 2:15 p.m.

The programs are $5 per person. Parking is $10 per car or free with a membership pass.
