On Thursday, March 3, St. Aidan School hosted a Lenten Spaghetti Dinner to benefit Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish (OLMM) in Wyandanch. Almost 200 guests, comprised of St. Aidan School families, parishioners and members of the Mineola Junior Fire Department stepped up for the cause and showered OLMM with their generosity. It was a heartwarming event with young and old gathering together for the needs of others. In the spirit of Lenten generosity, guests gave $5 each for the simple meal of pasta and bread and brought with them a non-perishable food item for the OLMM pantry. Noelle Campbell, a representative from OLMM, was overwhelmed with the generosity of St. Aidan’s. She returned home not only with a check for more than $1,300, raised through donations and a 50/50 raffle, but also with a car packed with food and supplies for their busy pantry.
All the food for the evening was donated by local merchants. BJ’s Wholesale Club, Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Aidan #1577, Gino’s Pizzeria, Girl Scout Troop #1591, King Kullen in Garden City, Mineola Fire Department, NY Ravioli, Panera Bread and Stop and Stop, in New Hyde Park supplied all the ingredients for the delicious pasta dinner. —Submitted by St. Aidan School
