Students from Meadow Drive and Hampton Street Schools had artwork chosen for the first inaugural art contest ceremony at a local McDonald’s restaurant.
The contest highlighted the talent of Mineola’s youngest students who were judged by the McDonald’s staff for first-, second- and third-place prizes. Art teacher Jaclyn Manouvrier-Altman selected one artist from each grade.
Student-artists representing Meadow Drive School were Deirdre Steiner, Liam Yanes (second-place winner) and Nathan Ren. From Hampton Street School are Victoria Dacosta (first-place winner), Naya Lameirao and Aidan Paul (third-place winner). The artwork is currently on display until the end of the year at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 60 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
