On Sunday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., all dogs (and humans) are welcome to join fellow pet lovers at the inaugural Bagels & Barks in the Park at the Manorhaven Dog Park at 81 Manorhaven Blvd. This fundraising event, sponsored by Leslie’s Leashes Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Service of Port Washington, will benefit the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter and The Shelter Connection. There will be free coffee and bagels for all dog owners while the dogs enjoy playing in the park. Other activities will include a training Q&A session, dog bite safety dos and don’ts for kids, advice from local veterinarian Kristen Andersen of Veterinarian on Wheels, raffle for a professional pet photo session, giveaways and more. Donations for shelter animals are welcome. Rain date is Sunday, April 24.
