The seventh squad reports the arrest of two Massapequa men that occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 2:52 a.m.
According to detectives, second precinct officers responded to a 911 call at 1:25 a.m. for a disturbance at an Elm Drive South residence in Levittown. The defendant Rory Walsh, 50, did enter the 58-year-old female victim’s house through a rear door. During a conversation with the victim, Walsh became agitated and attempted to leave with victim’s car. The victim in an attempt to stop the defendant jumped into the passenger seat. Walsh began grabbing the victims hair and choking her while attempting to get her out of the car. The victim exited the vehicle and reentered the home, the defendant followed the victim inside then fled on foot westbound on Elm Drive South.
Seventh Precinct officers responded to a 911 call at 2:07 am for a disturbance at a Grove Street, Massapequa residence. Upon arrival the female victim, 47, stated defendant Walsh did break a front window and when confronted Walsh pushed victim causing her to strike her arm. Walsh fled the scene, then returned and was arrested by Seventh Precinct officers after a foot pursuit. Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of her injury.
Upon the investigation it was determined that Walsh had contacted his nephew, Joseph Cappa, 19, after the first incident and had him pick him up on Wantagh Avenue and drive him to Grove Street in Massapequa. Cappa was placed under arrest at his residence.
Walsh is charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, two counts of Menacing 2nd Degree, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Intimidating a Victim or Witness 2nd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation and Aggravated Criminal Contempt. Walsh is currently hospitalized and will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
Cappa is charged with Criminal Facilitation 4th Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Monday, May 9, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
