Intel Semi-Finalist Honored

Nassau County Legislator Laura Schaefer recently recognized Intel Science Competition semi-finalist Elizabeth Rieger. She is a student at Garden City High School and her project is called: “A Plant Based Method to Decrease Pro-inflammatory Cytokine Production in Response to Cytotoxic Volatile Organic Compounds: Implications for Asthma and Respiratory Diseases.” The data was collected at school and in local laboratories in Nassau County.
