Levittown School District Passes Budget

On May 17, all of Levittown came out to vote and pass the budget for the 2016-17 school year, with a whopping vote of 1,961 to 719. The Capital Reserve Expenditure passed with a vote of 1,924 to 696.Levittown_logo

The night also saw the elections of trustees to the school board, including two incumbents and one new member.

“I would like to thank the Levittown community for returning James Moran and Peggy Marenghi to the school board, and welcome newcomer Christina Lang to the board,” said Moran, who has been on the board of education for many years.

Moran, who will complete a two-year term for Kevin Regan’s seat, was elected with 1,430 votes, while Marenghi was elected with 1,522 votes. Newcomer Lang received 1,470 votes.
“Christina will be a great asset to the Levittown School District,” he added of Lang. “Once again, on behalf of my running mates, I want to the thank all of our supporters and the LUT and CSEA members for their help through the whole election process.”
