The annual strawberry festival returned to the Massapequa Historical Complex on June 18, and brought with it plenty of sweet strawberries, just in time for summer. The Banjo Rascals were back to serenade visitors, who toured the grounds with strawberry shortcake and fresh jam from Auntie Grace and the Marmaladies. For those who wanted a history lesson, historian George Kirchmann was on hand to educate guests about Old Grace Church, the servants cottage and the Floyd-Jones Library.
If you missed out on this day of fun, come back in a few months for the apple festival at the beginning of autumn.
