The ENL After School Club at Rushmore Avenue School recently worked with the organization Bricks4Kidz Long Island.
In pairs, students utilized problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to build and race Lego cars. The exercise required students to follow the steps to build the car, work together to ensure it worked at top speed and build their vocabulary in a team environment.
The new ENL Club at Rushmore offers an educational and enriching opportunity for English Language Learners to participate in activities on and off school property. The club is advised by teachers Julie DePace and Daryl Valdivia.
