Thank You, Massapequa Schools

The youngest of my three boys is preparing to leave the cocoon of the Massapequa School system, and enter the world as an 18-year-old young adult. Thankfully, all my boys were college bound. The reason I write is to thank the Massapequa School system for all their due diligence and hard work keeping our children on the college track aLetter to the Editor Featured Imagend learning.

The staff all along the way were, for the most part, very good at their jobs, some were outstanding. Especially great was the support from the middle school and high school guidance counselors and school psychologists. They were always there to answer my questions on adolescence and help me through whatever crisis was going on with my children. They were all loving and caring in their jobs and the way they treated me. I tend to be a “helicopter” mom, and I had a very good email correspondence with all their teachers over the years. But, this was all done to help keep my children on track, and hopefully to help them to make better decisions. So far, so good.

And as my youngest graduated on Monday from the high school, it was with great pride and sorrow that I watched him get his diploma, and leave the cocoon that is the Massapequa School system.
