The Town of North Hempstead is now offering free parking for veterans with disabilities at Manorhaven Beach Park and North Hempstead Beach Park. This was approved unanimously by the supervisor and council at a recent town board meeting.
In order to qualify, residents need to show their government issued VA card.
“This is just another way that we are showing appreciation to our veterans who have done so much to defend our nation and protect our liberty and freedom,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth.
The town offers discounted annual parking permits for all veterans at these facilities, at a price of $25. The general resident rate for Town of North Hempstead residents is $50.
North Hempstead Beach Park is located at 175 West Shore Rd. in Port Washington, and Manorhaven Beach Park is located at 158 Manorhaven Blvd. in Port Washington.
