The Major Case Bureau is investigating an Attempted Bank Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, July 19, at 4:05 p.m. in Massapequa.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male white subject entered the TD Bank, located at 5555 Merrick Rd., approached the manager and produced a note demanding money. The manager advised the subject she was not a teller and did not have any money. When the subjects demands were not met, the subject who was described being 25-years-old, 5’11-6’3” tall, thin build, light brown hair wearing a black baseball cap with an emblem on it and a white towel under cap, tan short sleeved work shirt with emblems over a gray long sleeved shirt and tans pants, fled the bank and was last seen northbound on Carman Mill Road without any proceeds.
There were seven employees and one customer inside the bank at the time of the attempted robbery. There were no reported injuries.
