Marcus Named To AFA’s Board Of Directors

Roslyn_WebLogoGray2Roslyn resident Judi Marcus has been named as an associate member of the Board of Directors of The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA). Also named to the board was Garden City resident Arthur S. Laitman, Esq.
Marcus is the studio manager for Fred Marcus Photography. She previously worked as a social worker for United Cerebral Palsy. Marcus has also served as a board member of Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn. She also served on the board of the Roslyn Public School Coordinating Council of Parents Association, and she was on the parent’s committee at Emory University. In addition, Ms. Marcus served on the North Shore University Hospital AIDS Awareness Committee, on the board of the Long Island Jewish Hospital’s Partners in Women’s Health, and was a past president of the Roslyn Chapter of the Children’s Medical Fund of Schneider’s Children’s Hospital. She was also one of the founding members of the Sid Jacobson JCC. Marcus, for the past seven years, has assumed the role of a family member and primary caregiver to her mother and mother-in-law who have both been diagnosed with dementia.
“Ms. Marcus and Mr. Laitman are extremely dedicated and accomplished individuals who share our mission of spreading awareness and knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related illnesses,” said Bert E. Brodsky, executive chairman of the Board of Trustees for AFA. “Both of these remarkable individuals have been active in the Long Island communities and have personal ties to the disease. We are proud to welcome them to our team and look forward to their contributions to our cause.”
