Westbury School District Announces Two New Principals

westbury school districtOn July 29, during a special meeting of the Westbury School District Board of Education, the board unanimously appointed David Zimbler and Fernando Agramonte to serve as the Westbury High School principal and Westbury Middle School principal, respectively.

Zimbler’s appointment has already begun while Agramonte’s appointment is effective Aug. 18.

The board of education and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary A. Lagnado would like to thank the members of the search committee for their diligence throughout the extensive search process and for their recommendations, which the board seriously considered prior to making the final appointments.

For the past five years, Zimbler has served as the Westbury Middle School principal. His exemplary service, knowledge of the students and the community along with his vision and commitment to student achievement contributed to the board’s decision.

Agramonte joins the Westbury School District with prior experience as assistant principal and director of world languages of West Islip High School and assistant principal of Nyack High School. His professional qualifications, commitment to public education and belief that every child can succeed academically will serve as a valuable asset to the middle school and community.

The Westbury School District Board of Education invites all parents and community residents to attend the board of education meeting scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in the Little Theater at Westbury High School where there will be an opportunity to congratulate and meet both principals.
