The Church of St. Mary held its first-ever Harvest Festival on the grounds of Marist Hall on the parish campus Saturday, Oct. 29. There was so much to do for all ages, including crafts, inflatable slides, bouncy houses, obstacle courses, bingo, a dunk tank, a petting zoo, pony rides and a wide variety of food.
St. Mary alumna Patty Anglin said that she thought the event turned out fabulous and she is “trying to get alumni more involved with all that goes on at St. Mary’s”. She is looking forward to the fair becoming an annual tradition that will bring families together in order to have a fun time.
As live Doo-wop music played from the bandshell, St. Mary’s third-grade student Maggie Miller was clearly enjoying herself with her family. She was taking her chance
at the dunk tank when she threw the ball and hit the target, sending the dunkee into the cold water of the tank below.
Over at the field were games and activities for children to partake in. There was a giant slide, a football toss, face painting and so much more. A petting zoo with bunnies, chickens with different colored “mohawks” and ducks delighted both old and young. Licorice, the pony, gave rides to excited children.
Attendees were able to take home a bit of the fair with them by purchasing a craft, St. Mary apparel or by choosing from a delicious selection
of dessert items.
