Fundamental Volleyball Club Makes Championship Debut

After just two years in operation on Long Island, Fundamental Volleyball Club (FVC) has made a championship debut in Florida, with its FVC 18 Elite, winning the 2017 AAU Volleyball Classic, 18s Open Division in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, March 26.

The girls’ outstanding performance resonated with many college coaches and fans in one of Florida’s highly contested tournaments at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and has stemmed the tide for increased collaboration in the South, said club director and former Division I volleyball coach Maxim Auguste. According to Auguste, he is proud that his team won this tournament because the players demonstrated the sense of ethical responsibility in a manner that paves the way for great sportsmanship, youth development and opportunity; critical components that forms part of his program’s philosophy and mission.

This diverse group of talented players comprises high school juniors and seniors from Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, Island Trees High School, Floral Park Memorial High School, Hicksville High School, Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School, Benjamin N. Cardozo High School and Sacred Heart Academy. Coach Auguste extends an invitation to all interested players who want to take their game to the next level, to attend his summer programs to ascertain a sense of why his program has become so successful in such a short period in operation.

Fundamental Volleyball Club consist of experienced collegiate Division I, II & III level coaches as well as former national team players from St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Panama. It is Auguste’s persistent mission to continue to pursue highly certified and experienced coaches, that provide the cutting-edge training to all participants; confidently developing a model that distinguishes player productivity as the hallmark for his program’s success.

This summer, FVC will be conducting individual and group private volleyball training, as well as volleyball camps in partnership with Aviator Sports and Events Center (Brooklyn), Gold Coast Sports Academy (LIU Post University), Long Island Sports Hub (Syosset) and will end with its annual Pre-Tryout Volleyball Camp to be conducted from Aug. 14 to 17 at Long Island Sports Hub.
