Administrators and board members recognized the academic and athletic achievements of district students at a board of education meeting.
The evening began with academic honors for students who earned awards at the Future Business Leaders of America State Spring Leadership Conference and from the Long Island Business Teacher Association. Students who placed third in the Nassau County Comptroller’s competition and those who excelled in the Nassau County Long Island Math Fair were also celebrated. In addition, SkillsUSA students and those who achieved success on national language exams were recognized.
Following the academic accolades, district Athletic Director Matt McLees took to the stage to recognize student-athletes who participated in fall, winter and spring sports throughout the district. All of the honorees were greeted by their respective building principals and given a certificate of recognition.
