A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 28-year-old woman, the mother of his three children, to death in her Mastic home on Monday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Kenneth Smith, 32, stabbed Krystal Nash during a domestic dispute at her Patchogue Avenue home and fled the scene in the victim’s car at 7:35 a.m., police said.

A relative in the house called 911 and Nash was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead.

Police apprehended the suspect in the victim’s vehicle on Thrasher Drive in Bellport later the same day. Smith was charged with second-degree murder.

The two have a 10-year-old boy, 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, all of whom were home at the time of the incident, but were not harmed, police said.

Smith will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip. Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on this case to call them at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
