One World Girl is hosting a dinner celebration in Manhasset to honor International Women’s Day 2018 on Thursday, March 8. All women and girls in the Town of North Hempstead are welcome to join at The Congregational Church, 1845 Northern Blvd., Manhasset, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will be a celebration for the women and girls in the Long Island area, to recognize their unique contribution in the community. At a time when the world needs all of us to unite and create positive change, the dinner will offer an opportunity to strengthen relationships, deepen understanding and transform lives.
Speakers for the evening include: New York State Senator Elaine Phillips and Farrah Mozawalla, acting executive director of the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs, who will honor several North Hempstead girls with a citation award: Being a Changemaker in the World through outstanding leadership and service in the community.
The dinner will raise necessary funds for One World Girl 2018 programming. This includes scholarships to Empowerment Days on Broadway; the Be A Changemaker workshops; a series of women’s networking dinners and the launch of a one-week summer empowerment camp for underserved girls in the Town of North Hempstead.
