Experience Fibre Art At The Library

The Manhasset Library, together with Exhibition Curator Mary Glynn and the Art Advisory Committee, have announced a new “Fibre Art” exhibition in the Community Room Gallery. There will be more than 30 amazingly talented exhibitors with work in various fibre related themes such as quilting, tri-axial weaving, applique, fabric collage, batik and mixed media. The library is located at 30 Onderdonk Ave., Manhasset. This exhibition will be on view until Friday, June 1. Contact the library at 516-627-2300 for viewing hours at the gallery. The reception will be held on Saturday, April 7, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., and is open to the public.

In addition to this exhibition in the Community Room Gallery, the library showcases featured artists on each of the floors of the library. Joan Brill Pavlovic presents her “Personal View Of Long Island” with some beautiful photographs of Long Island, in the third floor photography gallery. Meghan Meehan is an artist who creates wonderfully whimsical pieces to combat the negativity in the world by showcasing cheerfulness, playfulness, creativity and imagination. Her exhibition, titled “Conscious Perceptions,” is on the third floor of the library and will make every viewer smile.

The second floor showcases the work of Gladys Stewart, who is a master artist specializing in the East Asian ink and watercolor art form known as Sumi-e. She captures the essence of the subject in her paintings beautifully and the result is strikingly calming and perfect for a library.
