Floral Park resident and aspiring pediatrician Nicholas A. O’Malley was recently inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education. Nick attended Our Lady of Victory and Chaminade, and is a former Village of Floral Park Lifeguard. He is currently an Interdisciplinary health science major in his junior year at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
Founded in 1915, the Alpha Sigma Nu Society recognizes students in Jesuit colleges and universities here in the United States and abroad who have distinguished themselves in scholarship, loyalty, service and the pursuit of intellectual integrity.
Induction into Alpha Sigma Nu is one of the highest honors awarded on Jesuit campuses. Only juniors and seniors who rank in the top 15 percent of their class may be considered for membership. Of that 15 percent, only 4 percent can be nominated for induction.
