The Munsey Park Women’s Club (MPWC) is excited to announce that plans are well underway for the ninth annual MPWC Kids Fun Run and Fair, a fundraiser that started nine years ago based on the idea of kids helping kids. The beneficiary of this fundraising event is again the Manhasset SCA’s Project Share, whose main goal is to provide economically at-risk Manhasset students with simple basic need items. Project Share relies almost exclusively on the monies raised from the Fun Run for its work. Thanks to the generosity of our community, Project Share has been able to assist over a hundred students each year by providing mattresses, clothing, back-to-school supplies and other basic necessities.
On Saturday, June 2, at 9 a.m., kids from all over Manhasset will gather to run or walk the one-mile race that starts at Waldmann/Polliwog Pond to show their support for Project Share. The Fun Run is open to all children ages two-12 and strollers are welcome. Immediately following the run, there will be a fair at Polliwog Pond where racers and their families can enjoy carnival games and yummy goodies at the bake sale. Nominally priced tickets for everything will be available. There will also be a raffle with many great prizes such an iPad mini, American Girl doll and more.
This year, the MPWC is extremely grateful to their Gold level sponsor, Americana Manhasset, as well as their other sponsors, nuBest Salon and Spa, For Five Coffee Roasters, Daniel Gale, and Unlimited Sports Action. Event sponsorship opportunities are still available. Help make the event a success and demonstrate your support for this worthy cause. With a contribution of $300 your family, group or business name will be printed on the back of the event T-shirts. For more sponsorship information, contact Alecia Dalessio at aleciafoxdalessio@gmail.com.
MPWC hopes everyone will join in and support this worthy cause while enjoying a fun morning with family. Registration opens on or before May 18 at $15/child and $20 after May 18 through race day. Only those pre-registered by May 15 are guaranteed T-shirts. For a registration form, contact aleciafoxdalessio@gmail.com. The MPWC is anticipating a great turnout for an event that brings the community together.
