Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilwoman Michele Johnson announced that residents looking for a fun way to spend their winter recess can head to one of the town’s ice skating facilities, where holiday hours will be in place.
“For a fun, social distanced activity, residents and their families can head out to one of the town’s ice skating rinks—outdoors at Marjorie Post and Syosset-Woodbury Community Parks, and indoors at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage,” Johnson said. “All three facilities will be offering special public sessions to provide children who are off from school with a fun-filled activity.”
Beginning Monday, Feb. 15, through Friday, Feb. 19, all three rinks will offer the following holiday schedule: 10 a.m. to noon; 1 to 3 p.m.; 4 to 6 p.m.; and 7 to 9 p.m.
“Even during these unprecedented times, we want to ensure our residents and their families have recreational opportunities where they can stay safe and practice social distancing,” Saladino said. “We welcome families to our ice rinks to enjoy these special public sessions.”
Capacity is limited at each location, and face masks must be worn at all times. The outdoor ice rinks are located at Marjorie Post Park, Unqua and Merrick Roads in Massapequa, and at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park, 7900 Jericho Tpke. in Woodbury. The center is located within Bethpage Community Park at 1001 Stewart Ave. in Bethpage.
