Alexander

One-year-old Alexander (Adoption #H210286) has survived some difficult days, but better ones are ahead for him now that he’s received great care from NSALA’s Medical team for his heart conditions. With a plan in place to optimize his health, and the support of our Pet Health Centers in Port Washington, nothing is standing in the way for this tender, orange tabby. He may seem a tad shy at first but he’s just reserving his affection for the right ear rubber. He’ll be melting in your hands in no time and we anticipate a very happily ever after shared between one deserving boy and his favorite human!

Eema
Eema

Although southern rescue Eema (Adoption #G26342) may feel a little worn out from her travels, she’s never too tired to greet a new friend with a warm, welcoming head butt. You can easily soothe any apprehension with a treat and a gentle ear rub. This one-year-old raven beauty may not appear eager for a fresh start but your quiet home is going to bring out her inner kitten. Eema has a very gentle way of saying thank you to the hero who changes her life by bringing her home—it’s part of her charm!

Silky and Misty
Silky and Misty

**Double Adoption** Eight-year-olds Misty (Adoption #BF3694) and Silky (Adoption #BF3693) have survived so much adversity together; now they’re preparing for better days in the safety of Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption center, which is a far cry from the warehouse in which they’d been abandoned. After so much sadness, this beautiful bonded pair want nothing more than the human love they’ve been missing in their lives. Misty’s tiny meow implores you to be their friend, while Silky’s quiet. imploring gaze begs for a chance at your heart. If their gentleness isn’t enough to sway you, their soft baby kitten fur should seal the deal! We can’t think of a better way to become a hero than to offer Misty and Silky the quiet home they have always deserved. When you rescue them, they are sure to rescue your heart in return.

Jr and
Jr and Max

**Double Adoption**When JR (Adoption #H210293) and Max (Adoption #H210294) lost their home recently, they banded together, determined to find a fresh start worthy of them. While ten-year-old Max is taking a cautiously optimistic approach to meeting new friends, five-year-old JR is putting himself all out there, rolling over to say hello in the hopes you won’t be able to say goodbye! Their approaches may be different, but these buddies are hoping the outcome is the same: resuming a happy home life. JR was a model patient for the vets who gave him a successful plan to treat his heart condition, which is covered through our Pet Health Centers. NSALA is confident JR and Max will know happiness again because they’re already a match made in heaven… become part of your family would be the ultimate dream!

Adrienne
Adrienne

Adrienne (Adoption #BF3695) has the makings of a very special soulmate. This local discovery can’t tell us what she’s experienced that led to her finding herself in need of our help, but her gratitude is quite clear. A quiet, loving home is exactly what Adrienne craves, and we’re looking to give this one-year-old everything she dreams of and more by finding her a family who’ll offer her a lifetime of ear rubs to make up for the tough start she has already put behind her.

Apollonia
Apollonia

NSALA’s beautiful friend Apollonia (Adoption #R166247) returned to them recently when her family could no longer care for her. We are saddened to be reunited with her as we had hoped this sweet senior had found a home to spend the rest of her life in after a perilous beginning but we’re committed to brightening her days with all the love and support she’d grown to appreciate from us in the past, and look forward to finding this precious eight-year-old a family worthy of such a loving fur friend. Apollonia’s already greeting us with enthusiastic pigeon purrs, grateful for the peaceful space we’ve provided her. Because Apollonia is a member of our Sponsor Program, all of the costs for her Irritable Bowl Disease are completely covered through NSALA’s Pet Health Centers in Port Washington. Apollonia has told us she’d appreciate being the only pet in her home, and we are happy to honor her request. Although our reunion is bittersweet, we see she is the same regal beauty we remember her to be; we look forward to introducing her to a new family committed to devoting their whole hearts to her.

Emma
Emma

Despite the major setback of losing her beloved owner and home recently, 10-year-old Emma (Adoption# H200081) has decided to help us help her find a new family by putting her best paw forward and embracing her new temporary home in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center.  This rotund friend has a heart as big as her belly—which she’s happy to offer for rubs immediately upon meeting you. Instantly, Emma has become a staff favorite, and we have no doubts she’ll be winning the hearts of her new family in no time at all.

Giacomo Hissanova
Giacomo Hissanova

Giacomo is a good little kitty who likes children and can probably cope with a gentle dog and even other cats too, Yes, he is FIV+ but that should not shorten his life and should not be an issue for other cats as it can only be transmitted through blood.  Giacomo just wants a lap to sit on and someone to call his very own family. petfinder.com

Cassius
Cassius

Cassius is a very handsome 1-year old boy who comes from a rough start, so he can be distrustful and standoffish at times, but with love and patience, you can change this little boy’s world around! He likes to play but it might be a bit before he is comfortable being pet. What Cassius needs is patience and understanding until he can learn to trust that people can be kind and loving. There are few greater rewards in life than getting an animal to trust you!

Mrs. Buffet

Mr. Whiskers and Mrs. Buffet recently lost the only home they’ve ever known when their senior owner passed away and there isn’t any family to take them in.  A good Samaritan has been feeding them for several months, but they need so much more.  The house is being sold so they will be let out of house soon.  Mr. Whiskers is 4-years old and Mrs. Buffet is 10. They are very sweet and a bit shy. They are starved for attention and love to be around people. Both are spayed/neutered and fully vetted.

Sid
Sid

Meet Sid – this handsome boy originally came to the shelter as a stray when he was 10 months in 2017 but got adopted a few months later. Now Sid finds himself back at the shelter due to behavior issues that increased throughout the years. Sid is an active boy but also doesn’t mind hanging out with you while you watch tv. Sid is house trained, is accustomed to grooming, car rides and loves long walks and butt rubs. Sid is looking for a low traffic home with adults only that is familiar with guarding in general. Sid never lived with another dog and prefers it that way but did live with a cat in his previous home. If Sid sounds like the guy for you, please call for more information at 516-785-5220 or email [email protected]

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter

Blaze
Blaze

Blaze is an 8-year-old Pit who was rescued by Smithtown Animal Control Officers when he was found abandoned and left in a cage at Blydenburgh Park. As a result of this sad experience, he takes his time to trust a new person, but once he opens up, he shows just how playful, intelligent, and loving he can be. Blaze knows his basic commands like sit, wait, give paw, and he walks nicely on a leash. Blaze needs an adult only home, without other pets, and an owner familiar with raising big breed dogs. Blaze deserves a furrever home that will spend time giving him the love (and treats) that he deserves, understanding that he had a tough life before the Shelter. If you are interested in meeting Blaze, please call 631-360-7575 today for more information today!
