The Great Neck Alert Fire Company is pleased to announce the installation of the 2024 officers of the Great Neck Alert Junior Firefighters. The new officers are Juliette Gonzales, Captain; Emet G, First Lieutenant; Elizabeth Mejia, Second Lieutenant; Analia Flores-Balam, Recording Secretary; and Angel Campos, Financial Secretary.
A special award was presented to outgoing Captain Nicole Garcia for her hard work, dedication and extraordinary service to the Alert Junior Firefighters program. Nicole joined the Juniors in May 2019. Her reason for joining back then was her love for the fire department and wanting to do something special for her community. Nicole is currently a senior at Great Neck South High School.
The installation and presentation took place at the Alert Fire Company Headquarters located at 555 Middle Neck Rd. The Junior Firefighters program is for young adults between the ages of 12 and 17. The Juniors meet twice a month and receive training in First Aid, CPR, fire safety and participate in other firefighting drills and activities.
