The 26th Annual Fundraising Gala, hosted by the Chinese American Association of North Hempstead (CAANH), was a resounding success, held grandly in the luxurious ballroom of Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck.
Established in 1997, CAANH is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Chinese community in North Hempstead and promoting cultural exchange through various educational and recreational programs.
The gala marked a significant milestone, serving as the first gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic. President Rosalyn Meyer delivered a poignant address, highlighting CAANH’s mission and notable achievements, emphasizing the organization’s unwavering commitment to cultural preservation and community development.
The evening was distinguished by the presence of prominent Nassau County and Town of North Hempstead politicians, who bestowed awards upon members of the local Chinese community for their exceptional contributions. Notably, world-famous Chinese artist and Manhasset resident Jun Cao was among the honorees, receiving accolades for his profound impact on the arts.
Guests were treated to an array of enjoyable activities, including raffles featuring extravagant gift baskets generously donated by the local community. The festivities also featured captivating Roaring ‘20s-themed photos and a dynamic Latin dance performance. Adding to the excitement, salsa lessons were offered, delighting attendees with an interactive experience.
